Our lovely village has many wonderful gardens and lots of enthusiastic gardeners. Every garden is special. Let s have a really great day sharing our work with others.
A provisional date of Sunday 8th June 2025 has been set for having an open garden event in the village. For the village it is a lovely event with 10-14 gardens open to wander around and get inspiration. For the owners of the gardens a chance to share their enthusiasm for gardening and the unique features of their garden.
If you would like to open your garden we would love to hear from you. ( see below for contact details). Sadly currently we do not have enough gardens to make a village wide event worthwhile, but if you join us we may be able to run the event. (A decision will be made by the end of March)
THREADGILL CUP. This is an annual village garden competition. There are four different categories, large, small garden, pots and hanging baskets and vegetable gardens. Entry is free and you can enter as many categories as you wish. You do not have to be present when the judging takes place, which we hope will be in the week starting 2/6/25. Why not enter?
The Open Gardens and Threadgill Cup Competition are NOT mutually exclusive. The reason for holding them around the same time means that the work to get your garden tip top, would cover both events. (The Threadgill Cup will go ahead even if the numbers entered are small)
