HIBBERT AND LIDDELL CUPS 2022 /2023
The Hall Trustees, together with the then current cup holders, once again considered a number of nominations this year, as well as considering prior year nominations. If your own nomination was unsuccessful, please be assured that it was a good one, and do submit it again next year.
They came to a (nearly!) unanimous decision to award the Hibbert Cup for outstanding community service to Graham Stallard and this was done on Fete Day on 3rd September, when Graham became the 21st holder of the Hibbert Cup.
Graham has been Secretary and Trustee of the War Memorial Hall for more than twenty years, serving five different Chairpersons and three different Treasurers, and playing important roles in fundraising and many refurbishments. One nomination described Graham as the lynchpin of the Management Committee.
The team also came to a unanimous decision to award the Liddell Cup (for a specific outstanding community project) to Chris Davis.
The Project completed was the 20th Birthday Party Celebration for the Village Community Shop.
Chris has been Involved in the Shop Association from the beginning, and Chairman for the last eight years. He has made huge contributions in:-
Staff Leadership
Volunteer Leadership
Committee Leadership
Financial Leadership
Grants and Funding
Refurbishment Projects
And much more
The result is a fine facility which quite literally adds enormous value to each and every one of us.
Chris became the 5th holder of the Liddell Cup when it was presented to him on 3rd September at the Fete.
The full Rolls of Honour of both Cups are displayed in the War Memorial Hall and on the village web site.
