Abbotts Ann Water-Meadows — Pillhill Brook

When

19/09/2021
10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Event Type

This is a note to let you know that I will be coming to Abbotts Ann water-meadows to work with the landowner to remove invasive non-native plants. We would love some support!

Pulling out Himalayan balsam is not hard to do. It is a very rewarding task and our green gym work will help the beautiful Pillhill Brook.

We would love you to join us. We will be pulling the balsam on Sunday 19th September from 10:00 – 13:00 which is enough time to pull a pile, before going home for some well-earned lunch.

We will need to cross a tussocky field and will work along the stream bankside areas, as well as under the trees (again by the stream). Whilst you are in this special hidden gem you might see a kingfisher or water vole!

If you can make it in principle, please let me know by emailing me maggie.shelton@hiwwt.org.uk and I will send you the meeting place with some other useful information.

Many thanks, Maggie Shelton, Community Catchments Officer, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust
