Visitors are welcome at our monthly meetings and there is no obligation to join, although there other opportunities should you decide to take the plunge. Along with our monthly meetings we also enjoy coffee mornings, a breakfast club, a lunch club, a supper club, a walking group, a book club, cinema visits as well as other events and outings.

The Institute belongs to the Anton Danebury Group within the Hampshire Federation and this consists of other local institutes and has two meetings a year. Hampshire Federation also has two meetings a year, the Spring & Autumn Council Meetings. These are usually held in either Portsmouth or Basingstoke and attract well-known national figures as speakers.

Our Institute usually takes part in various competitions organised by the Federation which have included the annual quiz, as well as the skittles, darts and scrabble competitions.   If you do have a flair for craft, there are always opportunities to put this to good use. Then of course if you are technologically minded these skills can be utilised as well. However, it is not a necessity to have any of these talents to join the WI.

The annual membership fee (for 2019 £42.00) includes the magazine, W.I. Life, which is sent direct to each member. However, if you wish to come along to a meeting as a visitor, then we welcome a voluntary donation which is then passed on to the local hospice.

Please don’t be shy come and try us, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
