A successful show need great people like you to have a go at acting on stage or helping with all the essential backstage and front-of-house tasks. We are a friendly and welcoming group who like to have fun while we rehearse, paint sets and fit costumes. Absolutely no prior experience is required and you can be assured that you will be supported to find a role that suits you and brings out your hidden talents.
To help us decide what the next production will be, there will be a casting call held at 7.30 pm on Thursday 15th and Tuesday 20th February to enable an evaluation of the gender and age profile of the available cast. Volunteers for backstage and front of house are also very welcome to attend and offer their time. If you can’t make one of these meetings, please get in touch via players@abbottsann.com.
Actors will be asked to commit to a schedule of two rehearsals per week (Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the War Memorial Hall) leading up to the shows in June (provisionally 7th-9th). We understand that you won’t be able to make every rehearsal and we do our best to schedule rehearsals around your holidays and other commitments, focusing on your scenes as your availability allows.
